in our Party, and even enforce the policy of

Peasants and Workmen and have all workmen armed. The

Communists have shaken the sky with their cries in

support of the 3 gigantic policies, but we must tell

Mr. Wong with all respect that we are not like an ox

which has no understanding. Once we regarded Soviet

Russia as a god: more, we accepted the Communists as

brothers: we spoke so often of the importance of the

peasants and workmen to our Revolution, that we offended

many of our friends. But, remember, we have never

received any confidential instructions from our late

President that we must maintain our alliance with Soviet

Russia even if she wants to destroy our Kuomintang

though the Communists, (In fact this is impracticable. Destroy Kuomintang and what becomes of Sun Chung Shan's

alliance with Russia?) or that we must tolerate the

presence of the Communists in our Kuomintang even when they want a revolution against our Party, (This is alike impracticable. When this happens and the Communists

will not tolerate you who will join you to tolerate them?-) or that we should take great interest in peasants and workmen even when they support the Communists in a revolu-

tion against our Kuomintang.

He said,

There are some fine words in the Speech which Mr. Sun Chit Shang (Sun Fo) had some of his Communist

clerks to write for him in celebration of the annual

anniversary of the Ministry of Communications. "We must know that the revolution is the business of the

masses. As the masses need emancipation, they must have a revolution, and for the purpose of a revolution, they must have a Party." This means on some round-about way that if peasants and workmen want Communism, the exist- ence of the Kuomintang should not be permitted, and any
